Today, I went out to dinner with two friends who used to live in Chicago, but moved to San Francisco. They were visiting and made plans to see my husband and me, go out for a lovely dinner, and catch up.
I am grateful that I have friends who do this. I am eternally grateful that I have friends who care enough to want to make time for me, see me, catch up with me, and share their lives with me even if we live far away from each other. There was a point in my life when I felt like I was losing my friends left and right to careers, moves, family obligations, and significant others. I am grateful that this doesn't seem to be the case anymore, and this gives me a lot of confidence in myself and what I have to offer as a friend.
